A time-lapse of the evening
The light changes more between golden hour and the end of the blue hour than at any other time of day. A time-lapse shows exactly that. A fixed camera on a tripod catches it.
When, where you are
Best for this: golden hour into blue hour
Allow about 30 minutes before it starts. Adjust for your own walk.
Reminders are set on the home page: pick a lead time, then switch on notifications or subscribe in your calendar.
Bring, and watch for
- Lock exposure, white balance and focus, or the clip will flicker.
- Start before the gold ends and keep going into the blue.
- Bring a full battery and check the card has room.
Two questions
How long should I record?
As long as the window allows. The bar shows the minutes left. The longer the run, the more change you see.
What interval should I use?
Short for moving clouds, longer for a steady scene. Test a few frames first.
